Zombie Gamer
Died mid-queue, still walking to your Den. Slowly. Menacingly.
Idle RPG · Android & iOS
An idle RPG that only pays out when you actually go outside.
Your steps are the only currency. Not your wallet, not your free time, not a battle pass. You want better loot? Go outside.
The loop
It is a full RPG that happens to be powered by your legs. Here is the whole game.
Your phone's step counter is the only source of income in this game. No GPS, no location permission, no start button — it counts while the app is open, and your stride scales with your pace so runners are not shortchanged.
Distance turns into wood, stone and rarer materials, plus XP and Skill Points. Rarity is strictly tiered, so a long walk always beats a lucky one. Leave it uncollected too long and it starts to melt — the game would like you to come back tomorrow.
Spend it on an isometric base that grows with your Gamer Den — from 8×8 to 12×12 tiles. Forge, Watchtower, Arsenal, Laboratory, walls that visibly connect. Everything is free to move, so nothing you build is a mistake you have to live with.
The Couch Army comes for it in an endless, real-time tower defence raid. Waves get harder forever, a boss shows up every tenth one, and kills drop gold you spend mid-raid on powers with names like CHAIR-4 and ALT+F4REEZE.
Know your enemy
They want your base back on the sofa where it belongs. Every tenth wave sends the king.
Died mid-queue, still walking to your Den. Slowly. Menacingly.
Went AFK so long he became one. Very fast, very fragile, phases straight through your walls.
Hisses softly when close. Detonates on your buildings. That’sss a nice base…
Huge HP pool, hasn’t showered since the last patch. The stench alone pushes through walls.
A walking xylophone. Arrows rattle right through the ribs — splash shatters it.
Half troll, half sofa, all grudge. Hurls cushion-loads of Zombie Gamers. Slain kings drop royal loot.
Grass League
Every Monday you land in a bracket of about 25 players. The only scoreboard is distance you actually walked and collected. Top five promote, bottom five drop, across six tiers of increasingly smug names.
The prize is a badge and a small chest — deliberately smaller than what an evening walk pays out. The league is a reason to move, not a replacement for moving.
Optional, like the rest of the social layer: follow people by code, visit their base, share a card of your best raid. Or ignore all of it and play alone.
Wave Composer
Not up for a walk right now? There is still something to play.
Build your own wave from any enemy in the Couch Army roster, then clear it in a single attempt with the base you already have. No cooldown, no walking required, unlimited retries. Score only counts on a full clear, so every attempt is a real bet on your defense.
It never pays out loot or XP — walking stays the only real income — but a full clear puts you on a ranked leaderboard, all-time and this month.
The deal
There is no ad SDK in the app. Not an interstitial, not a rewarded video, not a banner.
The app does not declare a single location permission. There is no GPS code in it at all — the step sensor does everything.
Skill Points cannot be bought. That is a design rule written into the project, not a launch promotion.
Running improves your drop chances. It never unlocks anything a walker cannot reach.
Before you ask
Yes. While the app is open the live sensor counts every step (screen off is fine). And when you reopen it after closing, Go Touch Grass reads back what your phone recorded while you were away and credits it, up to a two-day catch-up. On Android that comes from Health Connect; on iOS from the phone’s own motion step history — no GPS either way. Cycling and driving still produce no steps, by design.
Because it does not need it and we do not want it. Steps are enough to know you walked, and every location permission we do not request is a category of data that cannot leak, cannot be subpoenaed, and cannot be sold. The location code was removed from the project entirely.
No. The whole game runs locally. An anonymous account only exists to power the optional social layer — the weekly league, following other players, and visiting bases. If you are offline, you keep playing and your kilometres are submitted when you reconnect.
No. The league is scored on kilometres you actually walked and collected, and Skill Points are not purchasable by design. If the game ever sells anything it will be cosmetic.

That was the whole point of the app, and it is the whole point of this page too.
