These are the rules for using Go Touch Grass (“the app”). By playing, you agree to them. They are deliberately short.
The deal
You get a free, personal, non-exclusive licence to play the app. We can update it, change how it works, or balance it differently at any time — it is a game that is still being built. Nothing here is sold to you, so nothing here is refundable.
Your account
Your account is anonymous by default and identified by a player code such as
#ABC1234. If you add an email address for recovery, keep it accurate — it is
the only way we can restore your progress.
You are responsible for what happens on your account. Do not share it, and do not use someone else’s.
Names
You choose a display name and a base name, and other players can see both. Keep them clean: no slurs, harassment, impersonation, advertising, or anything you would not put on a T-shirt in public. The app filters the obvious cases automatically, and we can rename or remove anything that gets through.
Don’t fake the walking
The entire game rests on one thing: the kilometres are real. So:
- Do not spoof, inject or automate step data.
- Do not modify the app, its traffic, or its save data to award yourself resources, kilometres or league position.
- Do not use multiple accounts to farm rewards or fill a league bracket.
Faked distance is the one thing that ruins this for everybody else. If we find it, we will reset the progress involved or delete the account, without warning and without appeal.
Fair play, from our side
Skill Points and in-game power are never for sale — not now, not later. That is a design rule, not a marketing line. If the app ever sells anything, it will be cosmetic or convenience, never strength.
This is a game, not a fitness coach
The app rewards you for walking. It does not know anything about your health, and it is not medical or fitness advice. Look where you are going, do not walk into traffic, and stop if your body says stop. You walk at your own risk.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete my account. That removes your server-side data immediately and wipes the local save; there is no backup. Uninstalling without linking an email has the same practical effect.
We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms.
The boring but necessary part
The app is provided “as is”. We do not promise it will be available, bug-free, or that your progress will survive every update — this is a small project, not a bank. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost progress, lost time, or anything that happens to you while you are outside.
Everything in the app — the code, the art, the writing, the Couch Army — stays ours. Screenshots, videos and streams of your own play are welcome and encouraged; reusing the assets to build something else is not.
Law
These terms are governed by Dutch law.
